I’ve added ReCAPTCHA to the site to help with spam issues. So, I’ve opened back up registrations for now.

Registered non-spam users should have open access to post comments with no CAPTCHA box, but newbs should have to use it, and then get approved to comment.

And, the biggest problem I was having was the new user registrations by spammers. That is also protected by ReCAPTCHA too.

FWIW, ReCAPTCHA was just purchased by Google, a cool thing in my koolaid drinking book.

Hey everyone,

I just finally got around to adding everyone to the blog who requested so via the form posted here previously.

I am trying to come up with a good way to manage the members list in a way that does not intrude on anyone if at all possible. Partly so I can see how many strong we are, and partly so I can be aware of who is interested in more interaction vs just lurking, etc.

I did accidentally send 1 request out to someone who had asked not to receive one. Oops, sorry. I did send an apology however.

Riding season is approaching, and I am hoping this weekend to have my own scoot back in action. Woot! And this year I am helping our local shop with their rally, Dust Bowl Weekend 2009. So I will be putting more into that for now and then focusing on the site later.

I had hoped to have the site moved to my host already and updated etc, but so far I am not making much progress.

Anyway, that’s all for now.

We now have 10 official/unofficial members here at Dead Bunny Scooter Club!

I am ordering new patches after the holiday weekend for those interested. I think I am going to order a larger number to get the per patch cost down to around $5 a pop.

If you are new, join the site, say whats on your mind, post some scooter pics or rally pics or whatever. Just have fun. Or don’t. There are no requirements beyond being a scooter fan to be a part of the club.

For those just joining us, we have stickers available and a few shirts as well. Look at some of the previous posts for info on those.

I am also working on our first annual non-rally non-meetup rally shirt. So stay tuned for that.

I have no idea how new users work on this. I know that if you have a wordpress.com account, you can post here. But has anyone tried to “sign up” for this blog in particular?

And has anyone tried to make a new post yet besides me? I don’t know if I have to give you higher access or not. One of the problems with using the free blog hosting vs my own I guess.

If anyone tries to sign up and has problems, please let me know!
